Olawale Law Firm is looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our team as an Associate Attorney.

We are seeking a creative, resourceful, self-driven, and motivated attorney. The ideal candidate must have excellent writing skills, strong investigative and research skills, and think outside the box. The candidate must be detailed-oriented, adaptable, and have strong negotiation and organizational skills.

The ideal candidate must be ready to handle all areas of immigration, personal injury, and wrongful death cases.

The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the confidence to try cases. The candidate must be comfortable arguing before judges and juries. The candidate must possess the ability to formulate effective case strategies and arguments. The candidate must be ready to work independently and formulate creative solutions to novel issues through research and other learning tools.

We are looking for an individual who is focused and can manage a high-volume and time-sensitive workflow effectively and efficiently. The position requires one to work both independently and within a team environment.

Prior experience is required.

Skill Requirements and Job Duties:

● Screen cases
● Investigate cases
● Gather evidence such as medical records, bills, reports, witnesses’ statements, etc.
● Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and defense counsels
● Communicate with clients
● Prepare and file lawsuits
● Handle all aspects of litigation, such as filing complaints, preparing and responding to discovery requests, and taking depositions.
● Research case law and statutes.
● Attend immigration interviews
● Represent clients at hearings and trials.
● Communicate frequently with clients. Clients seek our professional services related to the most traumatic events in their lives, so compassion and empathy are critical.
● Drafting legal documents (complaints, propound/respond to discovery, immigration forms)
● Finalizing and proofreading drafts.
● Prepare notices, schedule depositions, and serve subpoenas.
● Secure medical records from various treating healthcare providers.
● Gather healthcare lien information.
● Previous work experience involving litigation of claims
● At least one year’s experience in the personal injury claim process (plaintiff or defense).
● Strong legal drafting experience.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Bilingual English / Spanish desired. (Please indicate on resume).
● Self-motivated and must take the initiative.
● Ability to make timely decisions in the face of obstacles, difficulties, and challenges.
● Focus on meeting demanding deadlines.
● Meticulous attention to accuracy, detail, and organization.
● Must maintain professionalism in stressful and challenging situations.
● Naturally inquisitive, continuous learner, hungry for new knowledge/skills.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality
● Well-organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and function positively in a fast-paced environment.
● Knowledge of court rules and filing procedures (including e-filing) and ability to adhere to law office procedures.
● Light travel may be required at times.

Salary: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
